The P-40 Warhawk

The P-40 Warhawk

The P-40, commonally knowan as the Kittyhawk, had it's origens in a RAF request for a low-level tactical fighter that would be used in the ground attack role. It was used in the defence of Pearl Harbor and it was also used as the main USAAF defence fighter in the Pacific.

The P-38 Lightning

The Lighning was an original twin-boom aircraft that was desinged to tackle the long distances that challenged other Allied aircraft in the Pacific. It was only land operated and was also used in Europe as a ground attack and escort aircraft.

The P-36 Hawk

The P-36 Hawk:

The P-36 was the main fighter defending Pearl Harbour when the Japanese attacked it. It was minoraly agile and was not used in any other front. It was quickly overtaken by better planes, such as the P-38 and the P-40.

The P-26 Peashotter

The P-26 Peashotter:

The P-26 is one of those fighters that spanned two eras. It is noticble for beaing the first all-metal fighter produced in numbers, but is also knowen for having a fixed undercarrage and an open cockpit. It olny served in limited numbers in WW2.
