Vickers Valiant

Hi and welcome to the last post in the V-Bombers series.
This is the last post on my current computer, getting a new one soon!!!
The Vickers Valiant
The Valiant was the worst of the V-bombers, it proformed the Christmas Island tests and went to war in the Seuz Canal. The Valiant was a bit of an "insurance policy" for the Ministry of Supply, compare it to the more arodynamicaly risky Vulcan and Victor. The Valiant went to war in the Suez Canal, bombing Egyptian airfeilds, and it preformed the Cristmas Island nuclar tests.

Operation Black Buck

If you have not read my post about the Victor and the Vulcan, read them now(both July 05.)

Part One: Declaration of War
In 1982 Argentina invaded the British dependency of the Falklands Islands. The British Royal Navy Task Force was sent to reclaim the Falklands. For this to happen the Falklands radar sites and the Port Stanley runway had to be bombed. There was one choice for this mission. The Vulcan.

Part Two: Planning and Weapons used
The base for this mission was obvious: Ascension Island, a small British defense 4000 miles from the Falklands. The weapons where to be conventional 1000-pound bombs. It was given the codename "Black Buck"

Part Three: O
peration Black Buck
The Vulcan was took off as planed and had to be refueled mutiple times to reach Port Stanley. It was refueled by Victor tankers and, when it arrived dropped its bombs on the runway. Also, the Vulcan had to fly low to avoid radar detection and interception by Agintene Mirages and Skydaggers. Similar attacks where carried out against Falkland radar sites.

Hadly Page Victor

Here are some pictures of the Vulcan's fellow V-bomber, the Victor
I may not post on Friday or Saturday because I will not be near a computer!

The Victor was made by Hadly Page and was a formidible bomber for most of the 50's and was a tanker until it retired in 1993. The Victor never droped bombs in anger.

The Battle of Britain

As many of you may know in the 1940's Britain was bombed by the Germans. But, the Germans originally wanted to only bomb the RAF airfields and other military areas. But, in 1940 a Heinkel He 111 accidentally bombed a surburbian area in Southen Britain. Then, the RAF bombed the French ports and Berlin. Infuriated, Hitler retaliated on British civilians. Of course, the German Air Force was defeated by the British. (thanks to the book Bombers by Francis Crosby)

RAF Vulcan

The RAF Vulcan

Hi, all. This is my fifth post today. I might just be getting obsessive :)
OK this article is a short one about the RAF Vulcan bomber. More pictures are further down the page!
Part One: Britian's Bombers
In 1946 the RAF wanted a bomber that could carry a nuclar wepon quite a far way. Hardly Page and Arvo had two advanced planes. Arvo's was the Vulcan and Hardly Page's was the Victor. These became two of the three V-Bombers which where Britian's nuclar delevery system from 1955 to 1969, when it was swapped over to the Navy's Polarais submarines. When the Soviet defences where getting better the Vulcan went from high-level penatration to low-level penetration. The Vulcan flew low until it got close to it's target and then it rose to 12,000 ft or 3,657.6 meters. The Vulcan B.2 had a diffenent paint scheme, a ECM suite in it's enlarged tailcone and new Olympus engines.
Part Two: Vulcan Weaponry
There are four weapons the Vulcan uses, Here they are:
  1. "Yellow Sun" Hydrigon bomb
  2. "Blue Daube" Atomic bomb
  3. "Blue Steel" Stand off attack missile, 100 mile range/163 kilometers
  4. Conventinal 1000 pound bomb

Thanks for reading this! Please read my next article on Operation Black Buck.

The London Bombings

Just in from Yahoo News, it turns out the devastating London bombs could have been homemade and weighed less than 10 pounds. Also, police have not ruled out suicide attacks.
Also the terrorists will never get away with there devastating attacks against non-combatants.
I may not post for another hour or so, off to play Empire Earth!

My third post today!!!

BTW, on the idea thing, why did the Americans not nuke the Soviets when the Soviets had not developed a nuke?(The Americans had a nuke in 1945, the Soviets in 1949)
Any comments?!

Sympathy for a Wifi Pirate

Benjamin Smith III, 41, faces a pretrial hearing this month following his April arrest on charges of unauthorized access to a computer network, a third-degree felony.

Police say Smith admitted using the Wi-Fi signal from the home of Richard Dinon, who had noticed Smith sitting in an SUV outside Dinon's house using a laptop computer.
